Venice in a Day: Trains, Tours, and Timeless Beauty
Today, our student group traded the Tuscan hills for the Venetian canals with a full-day adventure to Venice!
We boarded an early train from Florence, and the ride was a mix of productivity and relaxation — some students caught up on schoolwork, others braided hair, and a few took the chance to nap as the Italian countryside rolled by.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by our enthusiastic local guide, Angelo, who led us on a walking tour through the winding alleys and over the iconic bridges of Venice. We explored the grandeur of St. Mark’s Square, admired the intricate façade of the Doge’s Palace, and watched gondolas glide silently through the canals.
After the tour, students had free time to explore — some shopped for Venetian masks and Murano glass, others wandered into quiet corners of the city or grabbed a quick gelato by the water.
We ended the day with a delicious group dinner, full of laughter and shared stories, before catching the train back to Florence — tired, happy, and full of memories from La Serenissima.
