The first stroke on our shared canvas
Bonjour from Paris! ✨
July 1, 2025
We made it! Our group landed in the City of Light early Sunday morning (June 29) after a smooth and sleepy overnight flight from Toronto — and we’ve been soaking up every bit of Parisian magic ever since.
On our very first day, we took advantage of our location just a few blocks from the historic Père Lachaise Cemetery — final resting place of many famous figures, from writers and artists to politicians. It was a meaningful and reflective start to our adventure, and set the tone for the cultural exploration ahead.
Classes officially began yesterday for our Grade 11 and 12 Core French and French Immersion students, and their excitement for learning — both inside and outside the classroom — has been incredible to witness.
Students have taken their language lessons out into the streets of Paris, exploring charming cafés, stylish boutiques, and irresistible boulangeries around every corner. They’re also preparing to take the lead as tour guides, ready to share both iconic sights and hidden gems with their classmates — a fantastic way to build confidence and connection through language.
Today, we’re back in class, but there’s plenty more ahead — including a celebration of Canada Day (away from home but not without Canadian spirit). And we can’t forget Tess, who also celebrates her bd today! Tomorrow, we head to the Louvre for a glimpse of the Mona Lisa, along with countless other breathtaking chefs-d’œuvre.
Looking ahead, we’re buzzing with excitement about seeing Paris from above on a giant Ferris wheel and welcoming a special visit from Sam Blyth tomorrow.

À bientôt,
