Split Decisions: Waterfalls, Hilltop Views & A Perfect Student Day in Croatia

Some days start with choices—and this one split our group right down the middle. Half of us boarded the bus early, buzzing with anticipation for a day trip to Krka National Park and the town of Šibenik. The other half opted for a slower rhythm, staying back to uncover Split’s quieter gems. Two very different vibes. One unforgettable day.

The Krka Crew: Chasing Waterfalls and History

As soon as we stepped into Krka National Park, the air changed. Cooler, crisper, and filled with the distant roar of waterfalls. We hiked past lush greenery and wooden bridges until we hit Skradinski Buk—the crown jewel. Cameras flashed, and jaws dropped.

Next, we headed to the coastal town of Šibenik, where medieval architecture meets Adriatic charm. From the towering Cathedral of St. James to quiet alleyways with sun-drenched cafés, Šibenik gave us a dose of culture with every step.

The Split Stay-backs: Hilltop Peace & Beachfront Bliss

Back in Split, the rest of our crew traded waterfall madness for mountain serenity. The Marjan Hill hike took us above the city, where pine trees framed postcard-worthy views of the sea and rooftops below. It was the kind of climb that clears your head and fills your photo gallery.

The reward? A chill-out session at the beach by our hotel. Book pages flapping in the wind, and dips in water that felt tailor-made for sore feet and salt-craving skin. No rush. No noise. Just sunshine and bliss.

Two Paths, One Shared Story

When we regrouped at dinner, stories flew faster than the waiter could bring menus. Waterfall warriors bragged about their epic adventure. Hill hikers waxed poetic about Marjan’s quiet beauty. And somehow, even though we took different paths, the day felt perfectly connected—two halves of one brilliant Croatian experience.

Whether you ride toward rushing water or wander up city hills, Split always delivers.
