Kalimera! (A message from the Program Manager)

Kalimera (good morning) from the beautiful island of Tinos, Greece!

We’re now into the second half of our busy program and the students are having an experience they will never forget.  Over the past 2 weeks, our students have made new friends, tried new foods, faced academic pressures, compromised with roommates, learned to operate with a foreign currency, and at the same time, they’ve had an incredible amount of fun!

Choosing to complete a full-credit course in 25 days is an ambitious undertaking.  However, these students are rising to the challenge and working hard at their academics.  After classes, they are also taking advantage of the opportunities to relax together and enjoy the amazing towns in which we find ourselves.

Our time in Greece began on in the bustling capital, fighting jet lag as we climbed the slopes of the iconic Acropolis.  But then we sailed to Crete, and the pace of our days seemed to slow down.  In the town of Rethymno, the students were able to settle in and get more comfortable with finding their way around, ordering in restaurants, and helping each other manage their time.

Yesterday, we crossed the water on a high-speed ferry, reaching the Tinos, where our group is spending 3 days studying (and relaxing on the beach) with the Mediterranean wind in their hair.  While the schedule continues to be busy, the kids are working well together, the staff is here to support, and core memories are being made.

We will continue to update you via the blog and Instagram as our program continues, and before you know it, we’ll be seeing you at the Arrivals area of Pearson airport!

All the best,

Diane
