Arrival in Rethymnon

After a beautiful sunrise, we got our day going with an early breakfast in the ferry’s restaurant. We left the boat and were driven along the stunning coastal road, to the town where we will spend the coming week.  We arrived at the hotel mid morning, so we took a tour around the neighbourhood and old town, scoping out landmarks, cafes, and shops, and following the narrow stone laneways between the old buildings.

After some free time in groups, we waited (the students were tired, but so patient!) for check-in time at the hotel.  They had a short class before daily announcements and a huge dinner buffet. We sang to celebrate a birthday in our group, and then students had the rest of the evening to relax or explore.
