Florence on Foot: Lessons, Street Food & Sunset Views
Today was a perfect blend of learning, flavor, and fun for our student group in Florence!
We kicked off the morning with an interactive class session, diving into art, history, and culture — all while surrounded by the very city that inspired the Renaissance. Then it was time to hit the streets for a true local experience: schiacciata! Students lined up at the famous All’Antico Vinaio, where they tasted this beloved Florentine flatbread stuffed with everything from prosciutto to truffle cream. Safe to say, it was a hit.
Fueled by focaccia, the students split into teams for a city-wide scavenger hunt. Clues led them through Florence’s historic heart — from the Church of Santa Croce, resting place of Michelangelo and Galileo, to the bustling San Lorenzo Market, where leather goods and local life collide.
The final destination? The stunning Piazzale Michelangelo, where the winning team claimed their prize just in time for a breathtaking sunset over the city’s rooftops and the Arno River. Cameras clicked, cheers echoed, and the golden light made it a moment to remember.
