Day 4 - Classes, Day Trip & Sunset Walk

July 1st, 2025

Today was a full day of learning, Global Summers Academy-style. The Grade 12 English students focused on their essays, diving into ideas and refining their arguments. Meanwhile, the Grade 11s flexed their critical thinking muscles with some hilarious debate prompts…like whether cereal counts as soup.

Over in the History course, students took a trip to Belém, the birthplace of the iconic pastéis de nata. They explored the area and learned all about medieval Europe while surrounded by centuries-old architecture and the smell of fresh custard tarts in the air.

Later, we gathered for our final dinner in Lisbon. The table was full of laughs, stories, and that feeling of a group that’s starting to feel like a family. Some students capped off the evening with a walk through the charming streets of the old town, snapping photos in the Alfama district under the sunset. It was the perfect way to say goodbye to this beautiful city!

We are off to Porto tomorrow, with an awesome stopover in Nazaré for a beach day and a surfing excursion.
