Day 3 - Our First Day of Classes in Rome!📚🏛️

Today marked our first full day in Rome and the official start of classes! We began the morning with a group meeting before students headed off with their teachers, excited to begin learning in one of the most historic cities in the world.

Mr. Reusch and Mr. Szczesniak took their classes to the beautiful Borghese Gardens, where students enjoyed an unforgettable outdoor classroom overlooking the city of Rome. Along the way, they also stopped at the iconic Spanish Steps, giving everyone another opportunity to experience one of the city’s most famous landmarks.

Following class, students had some free time to enjoy lunch and explore the surrounding area before meeting back up for one of the day’s highlights: a guided tour of the Colosseum and Palatine Hill. Walking through these remarkable ancient sites brought history to life, and students were amazed to stand in places where so many significant events unfolded thousands of years ago. It was an unforgettable experience and one that will certainly stay with the group for years to come.

After the tour, we enjoyed another delicious Italian dinner at a restaurant just steps away from the Colosseum before students headed into downtown Rome for some evening free time.

Many students also participated in the Rome Passport Challenge, organized by our Activity Coordinator. Teams completed a variety of fun challenges around the city, including reviewing their favourite gelato, recreating group photos at iconic landmarks, and stepping into the role of tour guides by explaining the history of famous Roman sites. The activity encouraged students to explore the city, work together, and experience Rome in a fun and interactive way. There were plenty of laughs, creative ideas, and memorable moments throughout the evening.

Another incredible day has come to an end, and students are already looking forward to discovering even more of Rome in the days ahead!
