Day 2 - Buongiorno, Rome! 🇮🇹

After an overnight flight, we officially arrived in Rome! Although everyone was feeling a little jet-lagged, the excitement of finally being in Italy kept spirits high throughout the day.

After checking into the hotel and taking a few moments to drop off our bags and freshen up, it was time for our first authentic Italian meal. Students enjoyed a delicious dinner beginning with a classic pasta appetizer, followed by chicken, potatoes, and vegetables as the main course. To finish the meal, everyone was treated to a traditional Italian dessert: risolatte. It was a big hit amongst the students!

With full stomachs and renewed energy, we headed out for an evening walking tour of Rome led by our fantastic program manager, Bertan. Our first stop was one that immediately took everyone’s breath away: the Colosseum. As we emerged from the subway station, students were greeted by the incredible sight of this ancient wonder illuminated against the night sky. Cameras came out instantly, and it was the perfect welcome to one of the world’s most iconic cities.

The adventure continued as we wandered through Rome’s historic streets, passing by several famous landmarks, including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, and, of course, the Trevi Fountain. Students enjoyed taking countless photos, soaking in the atmosphere, and experiencing the magic of these world-renowned sites at night.

Seeing Rome illuminated after dark made for an unforgettable first evening and gave everyone a taste of the history and beauty that surrounds this remarkable city.

It was the perfect way to begin our week in Rome, and the excitement is only growing.

We can’t wait to continue exploring everything this incredible city has to offer over the next few days!
