Community Service is an important aspect of giving back to the community. We try to instill a sense of global responsibility in all of our students as they explore the world. This optional excursion will allow students to engage in locally based community initiatives. Their time with local children, animals, or the natural environment of the area will earn them 4-5 community involvement hours which can go towards the student’s high school diploma.

ISLAND HOPPING SAILING, PAROS
Set sail for an unforgettable adventure on-board a traditional Greek “Kaiki” (a wooden boat) around the islands and islets of Antiparos, Despotiko and Panteronissi. AUTHENTIC COOKING CLASS AND HALF DAY IN VAMOS VILLAGE
This excursion will have you experiencing an authentic day in Crete! Immerse yourself in traditional Cretan culture while discovering the flavors and traditions of the Mediterranean diet. Before the cooking experience, the group will enjoy a short walk through the traditional village of Vamos, exploring its picturesque streets and old stone houses while learning about the history and daily life of one of Crete’s most authentic villages. The activity then takes place in a charming 18th-century olive mill, where students participate in a hands-on cooking workshop in a warm and welcoming environment. Students learn how to prepare traditional Cretan dishes while discovering the importance of olive oil, local mountain herbs, and fresh seasonal ingredients. Τhe menu will include: rooster in tomato sauce with traditional skioufichta pasta, or meatballs in red sauce as the main course, accompanied by dakos salad, fresh salad, kalitsounia with myzithra cheese and aromatic herbs, dessert, bread, water, and a local soft drink. During the experience, they are also introduced to the Mediterranean diet and learn how traditional recipes have been passed down through generations. Once the cooking is complete, everyone gathers around a large monastery-style table to enjoy the dishes they have prepared together, accompanied by fresh bread, traditional desserts, and soft drinks. STAND UP PADDLING, CRETE
Bring your energy and join us for a two-hour upper body Stand-Up Paddling workout. Your instructors will demonstrate techniques on how to use your SUP and share with you their knowledge about safety precautions and procedures while out on the water. VOLCANO AND HOT SPRINGS TOUR, SANTORINI
When in Santorini, one must learn and experience how this island came to be. Santorini is a volcanic island group at the central south end of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. It is arguably the most famous of the Greek islands and it is renowned for its spectacular sea-filled volcanic caldera. Santorini’s half-moon shaped bay is surrounded by steep, colourful cliffs and spectacular sea views. Once we arrive at the volcanic bay by boat, we will follow the path to the top of the volcano to Palea Kameni where active craters still gently puff steam. Here we will experience the famous hot springs and mud baths, which were formed as result of volcanic eruptions. In the small bay of Agios Nikolaos the water temperature ranges from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius, as it mixes continuously with the normal sea currents.
