teamLab Planets Tokyo

Today, our students stepped into a world unlike anything they had experienced before as we visited teamLab Planets Tokyo—an unforgettable blend of art, technology, light, sound, and imagination.

From the moment we entered, it became clear that this wasn’t a typical museum. Instead of simply looking at the exhibits, students became part of them. Walking barefoot through water-filled rooms, navigating mirrored spaces, and moving through immersive digital environments, everyone was encouraged to engage with the artwork using all of their senses.

One of the first lessons students learned was to expect the unexpected. Glowing flowers appeared to bloom around them, lights responded to movement, and entire rooms seemed to transform as people explored them. Every turn revealed something new, sparking curiosity and plenty of “wow” moments.

For many students, the highlight was experiencing the installations where technology and art combined to create living, ever-changing environments. No two visitors had exactly the same experience, as the exhibits constantly evolved based on movement and interaction. Cameras worked overtime as students captured stunning photos and videos, although many agreed that some moments were simply too incredible to be fully captured on a screen.

Beyond the visual spectacle, the visit encouraged students to think about bigger ideas. How can technology be used to create art? What happens when viewers become participants? How do light, sound, movement, and space influence our emotions? It was a perfect example of experiential learning, blending creativity, innovation, and critical thinking in a way that felt both educational and inspiring.

As we made our way through the exhibits, students shared discoveries, helped each other navigate the more challenging spaces, and compared their favorite installations. The excitement was contagious, and every room seemed to create new conversations and connections.

By the end of the visit, everyone left with a sense of wonder and a camera roll full of incredible images. teamLab Planets challenged us to see art differently—not as something to observe from a distance, but as something to experience, explore, and become part of.

An inspiring day of creativity, imagination, and discovery that reminded us why Tokyo continues to surprise us around every corner.

Until our next adventure, Tokyo continues to amaze us.
