Siena Day 2

The first full day of classes is behind us, and everyone is starting to settle into the time change and routine.

After class, we headed to a local osteria for a pizza tour. On the menu: Margherita, Vegetariano, and Quattro Formaggio. The clear favourite? Margherita! 🍕

Many students then ventured into town to explore, but the walk home came with a surprise downpour. Safe to say umbrellas got plenty of use!

Back in the classroom the next morning, students celebrated a major milestone by finishing King Lear aloud. A special shout-out to Jumping Jack for taking on the role of King Lear!

With classes wrapped up, students had plenty of time to explore Siena. Many caught some of the city’s famous contrade in action and even picked up scarves and flags to support their favourite neighbourhood. Palio fever is definitely setting in!

Dinner at the hotel featured a delicious turmeric risotto for primi, followed by roast beef and potatoes for secondi. Students skipped dolce, though—they had one goal: gelato. 🍦

Our fun competition continues: each room has chosen a contrada to support. If their contrada wins… gelato is on the staff!

It’s shaping up to be another amazing day in Siena. Stay tuned!
