Split Stories: Ancient Stones and Seaside Strolls

Today, our students dove deeper into the heart of Stari Grad Split with another unforgettable walking tour — once again led by our favorite Croatian guide, Damir!

We began in the cellars of Diocletian’s Palace, where the cool, echoing chambers gave us a glimpse into the foundations of Roman imperial life. From there, we climbed into the upper chambers, where ancient architecture meets everyday life — shops, cafés, and homes nestled within 1,700-year-old walls.

Damir led us to the Temple of Jupiter, where students marveled at the blend of Roman and Christian symbolism, and through several historic squares, each with its own story etched in stone. His storytelling brought the city to life, connecting the past with the present in a way only he can.

After a delicious group dinner, students enjoyed free time along Fun Beach’s beach boulevard — strolling the promenade, grabbing gelato, and soaking in the Adriatic breeze as the sky turned shades of pink and gold.

We’re falling more in love with Split every day — its history, its people, and its perfect mix of ancient wonder and seaside charm.
