Pantheon and Presentations

To make the most of our final days in Rome, we offered students the chance to join a DIY sunrise tour of some of the city’s most iconic landmarks. We warned them it would be an early start… and 11 students actually set their alarms for 5:00 a.m. to come along! 🌅

Our route took us to the Trevi Fountain, Vittoriano, Trajan’s Column, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and finally the Spanish Steps. Seeing these famous sites with the streets still quiet was a pretty special experience. ⛲️

After our first stop, we grabbed croissants and cappuccinos that may have been slightly overhyped… but still made for a great morning break! By the time we returned, we had already logged 6,000 steps before classes even began. ☕🥐

Back at the hotel, students worked on their group poetry presentations before taking the stage to present their analyses. They then had free time to tackle culminating assignments, study for the upcoming exam, or head out and enjoy more of Rome. It was great to see such a variety of productive (and adventurous!) choices.

Dinner was another feast: lasagna Bolognese, pesto pasta salad, roast turkey with gravy, garden salad, roasted vegetables, and tiramisu for dessert. 🥗

Tomorrow will be an incredibly busy day, so tonight was the students’ last chance to explore Rome with their friends before the 11:00 p.m. curfew. Hard to believe our final full day is almost here! ❤️
