Mountains and Sea! - A French Dream

If you’re ever in the French Riviera and craving a mix of nature, history, and sea breeze, San Peyre and Théoule-sur-Mer make the perfect pairing for a slow, scenic day.

Some of us started in the late afternoon with a hike up San Peyre, a peaceful volcanic hill just above Mandelieu-la-Napoule. The path winds gently through pine trees with little bursts of sea views teasing you as you go. As golden hour began to set in, we reached the summit. The light over the bay was spectacular—Cannes, the Esterel, and the shimmering sea all glowing in the soft evening sun. There’s an old stone ruin at the top, adding a touch of mystery to the landscape.

Back at the villa, we rejoined the group and had dinner with a view of the hills we’d just explored. After eating, we hopped on a short bus ride to Théoule-sur-Mer, just a few minutes away.

Théoule in the evening is magic. We arrived at dusk and slowly watch the lights of the homes in the mountains brighten. We strolled home along the coastal path, a peaceful walk that winds between the red cliffs and the sea. By the end of the walk, the stars were all out—an ideal end to a day that moved gently from hilltop to seaside and back again.
