Meandering Through Marpissa – A Step Back in Time
Today we explored one of Paros’ most picturesque and peaceful villages—Marpissa—a place where time seems to slow down and every corner tells a story.
With its whitewashed houses, unique PINK doors and shutters, and flower-filled courtyards, Marpissa felt like a living postcard. As we wandered through its quiet, winding streets, we passed charming chapels, traditional windmills, and local artisans’ workshops. Students were struck by how authentic and untouched the village felt—like a hidden gem tucked away from the world.
We paused often to take in the details: cats lounging in the sun, locals chatting in shaded doorways, and bursts of bougainvillea climbing up stone walls. And this was actually the assignment piece for our photography students.
As the day wound down, we returned to the coast for another sunset dinner that felt straight out of a dream. The sky turned shades of peach and lavender as we gathered at our waterfront table.
Marpissa reminded us that sometimes the most memorable moments come from simply walking, looking, and being present. Another unforgettable day on Paros.
