Palace of Knossos

One of the main historical sites near Heraklion is Knossos Palace. Today we visited this archeological site where some students from the Classic Civilizations class had the opportunity to present the learning they’ve been engaging in throughout their course. The guides did an excellent job explaining the importance and historical significance of Knossos while tying in several of the most well known Greek Myths.  Knossos is a site that cannot go unseen while visiting Crete.  Looks like we can check this one off of our list!

We are currently planning a beach trip for tomorrow so stay tuned to see where we end up!
