July 20 - Syros to Athens

Our last day in Syros began with a swim at the beach to take advantage of the gorgeous ocean before heading to the mainland and into Athens. Students arrived at the beach for 8:15 am and got straight into the water. It was calm, cool, and the perfect way to start a long travel day.

After some fun in the water students had the option to go straight to breakfast or to go to their rooms to get ready to check out. After room checks and check out, students had a few hours to hang out at the resort, still getting to enjoy the amazing views while working on their culminating assignments.

In the afternoon, the group got onto the bus to head to the port for their last ferry travel ride to go from Syros to the mainland and head to Athens for the final few days of the program. A smooth ferry ride with students continuing to work on projects, or take the time to nap and relax, get some food, and some enjoyed the upper decks to feel the wind in their hair and watch the Greek islands go by.

The students have gotten very good at ferry travel, so getting their luggage and getting to the bus was simple and efficient. A late arrival at the hotel meant going straight to the buffet for dinner before checking into their rooms for showers and relaxing after a long day.
