Halfway Home: A Morning Full of Wagging Tails
Today’s adventure took us to Halfway Home in Tamarindo, a local rescue dedicated to giving street dogs a second chance. Students spent the morning walking, bathing, and caring for the dogs, but it’s safe to say we received just as much as we gave. Between the endless tail wags, happy faces, and plenty of puppy cuddles, everyone left with full hearts, and more than a few students started talking about bringing a new furry friend home!
After a great morning, we returned to the hotel for lunch before jumping right back into our afternoon classes. The English students continued making progress on their culminating tasks, while the Biology students wrote a test. It was one of those days that perfectly captured what this program is all about: meaningful experiences, hands-on learning, and memories that will stay with us long after we leave Costa Rica.
