We're coming home!
Thursday was our final full day on the program!
The students had the morning to get in one final study session, then we had pizza for lunch and it was off to the exams! The students were nervous going into their exams, although the anticipation for the classes to be finished was high. When walking out, the students were all smiles and laughter!
After the exams, students spent the afternoon having one last gyro, and then getting ready for the final banquet. The banquet was held at a local taverna in the heart of Athens. We had dinner alongside a traditional Greek show that involved live music, dancers, plate smashing, and many “Opas!”. It was a very fun experience! Although, the students were simply happy to be in each other’s presence for one last night to enrich the friendships they have created over the past month.
After the banquet, it was back to the hotel to pack up for our flight tomorrow!
It has been an absolute pleasure serving these students over the last month. It was incredible to witness the connections the students made with each other, and we have been so happy to be a part of their lives for this program.
