Day 8: Cooking Up Memories In Crete
Monday began with another early morning run as students headed out to watch the beautiful sunrise over Crete. Before breakfast, there was a special surprise in store as students decorated one of their classmates doors to celebrate her birthday and make her day extra memorable.
After breakfast students attended their morning classes before some departed for the highly anticipated cooking excursion. They travelled to a charming small town with stunning views, where they learned how to prepare traditional Greek dishes. Students got hands on experience making favourites, such as dakos, greek meatballs and even a delicious dessert.
Back at the hotel, students who stayed behind enjoyed some free time with many taking the opportunity to explore the town, do some shopping and stay on top of their schoolwork.
As the day came to an end everyone gathered for dinner and a very special birthday celebration. We surprised our birthday girl with a small gift and dessert before singing happy birthday together. Since we are in Greece, it only felt right to celebrate her sweet 17 with a few Mamma Mia references and plenty of laughter, making sure our very own dancing queen had a birthday to remember.
