Today several students went on an optional excursion to Playa Grande. Us supervisors were so impressed with the students! For many of them it was their first time surfing and they picked it up in no time. We had some decent wind and they caught some great waves. After surfing we stopped for a fabulous lunch of chicken, papas fritas, and pico de gallo. 
During class time students in Kelly’s grade 11 biology course learned about meiosis and mitosis while the grade 12s learned about DNA replication. In Jeremy’s class students learned about nature poetry. What a great location to do so! 
After class some students headed down to the beach to swim or to do some yoga led by Ashley. 
In the evening, Jeremy provided extra support for his students by running a poetry workshop! Even Mimi aka Mango aka Mingo the cat joined in to learn too.
