Day 5: A Perfect Day in Crete

We started bright and early as some of our students were up at 5:00am to head out for a morning run and catch the beautiful sunrise over Crete. The early adventure led us to the beach, where a few students couldn’t resist cooling off with an early morning swim before heading back for breakfast.

After, students began another productive day of classes. Our English students participated in King Lear debates putting their critical thinking and communication skills to the test. Meanwhile our Biology students continued their studies, with grade 11 exploring mitosis and meiosis while grade 12 focused on cell membranes and an introduction to metabolism.

After classes wrapped up at noon, students enjoyed some free time for lunch before spending the afternoon at the beach. The sunshine, warm water, and time with friends made for a perfect afternoon. Students did a fantastic job staying safe in the heat by regularly applying sunscreen and making sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. We ended the evening with dinner together at the hotel before students enjoyed some free time and a slightly later curfew.
