Day 3 - Class, castles, and city strolls oh my!
Bom dia!
Day 3 began with another morning of class, thanks to our amazing teachers who found wonderful cafés and parks around Lisbon where students could learn while still enjoying the city. One of our class spots was in a park overlooking Lisbon, giving students a beautiful view as they worked.
After class, we headed out to explore São Jorge Castle, one of Lisbon’s most recognizable landmarks. The castle sits high above the city and offers spectacular views of Lisbon and the Tagus River. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, walking along sections of the castle walls, and taking in the scenery from one of the city’s best viewpoints.
With temperatures continuing to climb, plenty of water breaks and shade were appreciated throughout the afternoon. Despite the heat, spirits remained high as students spent time shopping and exploring Lisbon’s vibrant streets.
After dinner, the group made its way into the city centre, where the atmosphere was electric as fans gathered to watch the Spain vs. Austria FIFA World Cup match. The streets were filled with excitement, cheering, and celebrations, giving students a chance to soak up the lively evening atmosphere.
After a full day of learning, sightseeing, and exploring, everyone returned to the hotel for a well-earned night’s rest before today’s adventure in Nazaré, where the group will enjoy a day at the beach and experience one of the world’s most famous surfing destinations.
