Day 12: Hiking up Arenal Volcano

Early Sunday we loaded us the bus with our awesome students to make way to Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna! The four hour trek was split up by a super cool stop at a restaurant on a small lake where you could fish for your own dinner!

Then it was back on the bus to head straight to our hike. We saw a silver hawk, turkeys, a sleepy howler monkey, leaf cutter ants, and an eyelash viper (don’t get too close!)

Then we hiked as close as is safely allowed towards the volcano. The trek up was some steep stairs but it was nothing for these teens!

After the hike we went straight to our luxurious resort, Los Lagos. Students relaxed after their hike with dinner and lounging in the hot spring pools. Talk about Sunday funday.
