Day 11 - Museums and Cooking Classes

Yesterday was a day full of art, culture, food, and unforgettable memories! We started by exploring the Reina Sofía Museum, where we admired incredible works by artists like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Miró. Seeing masterpieces like Guernica in person was a highlight for many of us. One of the coolest surprises at the Reina Sofía was that we got to take home a few keepsakes inspired by the artwork, including posters and even candy!

Next, we visited the world-famous Prado Museum, where we viewed iconic paintings by legendary artists such as Diego Velázquez, Francisco Goya, and El Greco. It was amazing to see how Spain’s rich history and culture are reflected through its art.

After an inspiring day at the museums, we headed to another one of Mr. E’s great local connections for a hands-on cooking class. We learned how to make two classic Spanish dishes, paella and Spanish tortilla, and then enjoyed eating our delicious creations together.

To top off an incredible day, many of the students made their way to the city square to watch Spain’s soccer match. Watching Spain win alongside thousands of passionate fans was an unforgettable experience. The energy in Madrid was absolutely electric, and it was the perfect way to end an amazing day.
