So much good food!
Yesterday, we visited the beautiful village of Nipos, nestled in the Cretan hills, for a memorable Greek cooking experience. Led by our friendly French guide, Vincent, we spent the day learning traditional recipes in a welcoming local kitchen. We started with ντάκος (ntakos), a Cretan take on bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, cheese, and olive oil. Then we prepared the vibrant χωριάτικη σαλάτα (horiatiki salata), or Greek salad, full of ripe vegetables, olives, and feta. Next came the creamy τζατζίκι (tzatziki), a cool yogurt dip with cucumber, garlic, and herbs. We finished with golden, flaky τυροπιτάκια (tyropitakia), small cheese pies with a rich, savory filling. Vincent helped us connect with the local chefs and understand the heart behind each dish—a day filled with flavor, warmth, and true Greek hospitality.
