Colosseum and Roman Forum

July 1st

We stepped back in time to ancient Rome, where gladiators once battled and emperors walked. Students were in awe at the Colosseum after learning that gladiators not only battled each other, but wild animals such as lions and tigers as well! Due to the Colosseum’s superb engineering, it could also be flooded for staged naval combats.

We then checked out the Roman Forum where a once-thriving empire resided. It was used for political gatherings such as elections, speeches, and criminal trials. We can only imagine the stories these people hold.

After an eventful day of touring, we headed into the city for a nice pasta dinner. Students had their first night of free time and of course many of them spent it getting some delicious gelato! When in Rome!

Ciao!
