Travel Day #1

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We have arrived in Italia!

It was a long first day of travel, but everyone arrived safely and in good spirits. For some students, the effects of jet lag were certainly noticeable, but we expect most will have adjusted by today or tomorrow as they settle into their new routine.

Some students opted for an early night to catch up on some much-needed sleep, while others still had enough energy left to explore Siena’s beautiful centro storico (historic centre) in groups of four or more.

On Sunday evening, we enjoyed our first dinner together, featuring pasta al pesto Genovese, followed by svizzera di vitello con contorno di insalata mista. After dinner, a number of students joined me to watch Canada score a dramatic winner against South Africa in the second minute of injury time to advance from the Round of 32 at the World Cup. It was an exciting way to end our first evening in Italia!

Today marks our first full day of classes, and the students are now settling into their academic routine. There is lots to learn, explore, and experience over the coming weeks, and we are looking forward to an incredible journey together.

More updates to come!

Kind regards,

Richard
