☔️ ☔️ Croissants & Chaos: A Very Wet Day in Paris & Versailles
Rainy days in Paris aren’t gloomy—they’re glamorous. Think Emily in Paris in a trench coat, twirling under gray skies, or a refreshed garden at Versailles. That’s the magic we woke up to this morning.
The forecast? 100% chance of camaraderie and soggy socks.
This morning, we were Versailles-bound. Yes, in the rain. Because why not? The palace doesn’t close for clouds, and neither do we.
Top tip: The gardens of Versailles in the rain feel like a moody painting. Think Marie Antoinette meets indie film aesthetic. Fog curled over the fountains, birds splashed in puddles, and tourists huddled under umbrellas like extras in a romantic epic.
We wandered the Hall of Mirrors as rain pattered—very on-brand for such opulence. It felt like the palace was flexing its drama muscles just for us.
For those who didn’t head out to Versailles, the rainy morning was the perfect excuse for a cozy lie-in—no alarms, just soft blankets and the sound of raindrops outside. While they waited for their newly made friends to return from their royal adventure, the afternoon promised some well-deserved chill time. And for the bold ones ready to brave the weather (again), it was another chance to wander through the streets of Paris and find new hidden gems in the drizzle.
Rain in Paris and Versailles doesn’t ruin the day—it paints it in watercolor. It slows you down, pulls you closer to the city’s soul. And maybe…just maybe…makes the memories more magical.
Next time it rains, grab an umbrella, a friend, and a ridiculous amount of cheese. Adventure doesn’t care about the weather.
Au revoir & stay dry, mes amis! 🌧️🥐🎶
