Visiting Venice!

Our first official field trip took us to the magical city of Venice!

After an early start, we boarded Italy’s high-speed train and wandered through the beautiful streets to Piazza San Marco, where students admired the stunning St. Mark’s Basilica and Doge’s Palace before breaking for a quick lunch.

In the afternoon, we split into two groups for a guided walking tour, learning all about the fascinating origins of Venice. Fun fact: Venice was once its own independent country! We explored winding laneways, crossed countless little bridges, and discovered what makes this city so unique.

Dinner was a Venetian classic—fish and chips—followed by a well-earned serving of tiramisu. 🍽️

Even after a big day (and plenty of steps!), students still had the energy to head back out and explore Florence when we returned for the evening.

Tomorrow is their first full free day—no classes, no field trips, just a day to explore, shop, and enjoy the city until dinner. We can’t wait to hear about their adventures!
