Halfway Check-In
What a couple of weeks we have had! Our academic journey began in the heart of London, where students were welcomed by the iconic skyline and the vibrant energy of a city steeped in history. From exploring the markets of Camden Town to standing in the shadow of Big Ben, the group was immersed in cultural richness from the start. These early days set a strong foundation, blending education and exploration in meaningful ways especially after being invited into Sam Blyth’s home (GSA founder), where we had the chance to share a meal and community together.
From the bustling streets of London, we shifted to the sun-drenched island of Crete—a striking contrast in pace, language, and atmosphere. The change of setting offered a cultural awakening, with students quickly adapting to local customs and cuisine.
Beyond the academics, it’s been deeply rewarding to see bonds forming between students. Over shared meals, ferry rides, and evening hangouts, this group continues to grow closer, showing kindness and curiosity with one another. Guy, Mary-Rose and myself are proud of their desire to engage, and grow through personal interactions and shared experiences. Whether it’s a group walk along coastal paths, or a late-night conversation with gelato in hand, these connections are some of the most lasting memories of our program.
Now, we have arrived on the island of Rhodes, where medieval walls and ancient ruins offer a stunning classroom without borders. Cultural history is tangible here—something the students are experiencing through their surroundings and with myth-based literature assignments.
Thank you for your continued support, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
