Mid-Program Reflection from the Program Manager

Saludos desde España!

We can’t believe we’re already halfway through our adventure! Everyone is having a fantastic time, and it’s been beautiful to watch new friendships form as the group has traveled together. The students have bonded over all the experiences we’ve shared, and it’s been great seeing everyone step outside their comfort zones and make the most of every day.

We kicked things off in Portugal, where we explored the beautiful cities of Lisbon and Porto on walking tours, learning about their history while taking in the incredible sights. Some students also chose to add a little extra adventure with optional excursions like coasteering along the Lisbon coast and surfing the famous waves in Nazaré.

Since arriving in Spain, we’ve experienced the excitement of the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, visited the stunning Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and explored Madrid’s famous Reina Sofía and Prado museums. One unexpected highlight was an impromptu cooking class where everyone learned to make authentic paella and Spanish tortillas.

Evenings have been just as special. Our group dinners have given everyone a chance to relax, share stories about the day’s adventures, talk about the new places we’ve explored, and continue getting to know one another. We’ve also celebrated two birthdays already, making the program even more memorable with some extra cake and plenty of laughs.

Of course, it’s not all sightseeing! The students have continued to stay on top of their schoolwork, balancing academics with all of the incredible experiences this program has to offer.

It’s wonderful to see how this group has embraced every opportunity and made the most of every moment. And the best part? We still have plenty more adventures, sights, and memories waiting for us in the second half of the program. Stay tuned!

Un cordial saludo,

Linda
