Hike and Learn

Mountains, Vocabulary, and a Touch of Victor Hugo – Just Another Day in the South of France!

When you think of the south of France, your mind might wander to sparkling seas and endless skies—but guess what? There are also mountains! And this morning, our Core French class traded beach towels for hiking boots and headed up one of them.

After a scenic hike with postcard-worthy views (yes, we stopped for photos!), the students put their French skills to the test. At the top of San Peyre hill, surrounded by fresh air and pine trees, they practiced vocabulary related to impressions and sentiments. Let’s just say the vibes—and the verbs—were très positive.

Meanwhile, back on flatter ground, our Immersion students were channeling their inner marketers. Their mission? Create and present ads for Notre-Dame de Paris, the classic novel they read before departure. Victor Hugo would’ve been proud—and maybe even a little impressed with the catchy slogans!

From mountaintop chats to literary pitches, it’s been a morning full of language, laughter, and learning. À bientôt for more adventures.
