A DAY IN THE CITY OF LILIES

Ciao!

We recently took a day trip to Florence. From the first steps onto the bullet train that took us there, the excursion was instant excitement.

We arrived at Santa Maria Navona in Florence, where we met our guides. They showed us the main attractions and even some newer ones, like wine windows from the time of the black plague that reopened during COVID-19 and now sell gelato!

We saw the Ponte Vecchio, and the Medici corridor where Cosimo Medici traveled during the Renaissance. From there, we walked by the Uffizi gallery and through the Piazza della Signoria, where we saw the most beautiful sculptures and horses outside the town hall.

We finished our walking tour with a look at the giant cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore (the famous duomo) and the accademia gallery where we saw Michelangelo’s David.

After some shopping in Florence’s famous markets and a lovely pasta dinner, we were ready to return to Rome!

Ciao Firenze!
