Day 4: Night Hike in Monteverde

Today students started off with morning class before exploring the local town for lunch. Students had the chance to head into town for lunch where they explored local cafés, grabbed delicious Costa Rican dishes, and browsed some of the charming shops. From handmade crafts to fresh fruit smoothies, it was a great way to experience the local culture and support small businesses. As the sun went down, we laced up our boots and headed into the cloud forest for our night hike. The experience was both thrilling and unforgettable! We encountered some serious creepy crawlers such as tarantulas, scorpions, beetles, and even cockroaches. But it wasn’t all bugs, we also got lucky and spotted a sloth slowly making its way through the trees and a toucan resting up high in the canopy. The forest truly comes alive at night in ways you don’t expect. Excited to be moving on to Coco tomorrow!
