Day 26: Heading Home!

Today is the day! It’s sadly time for our group to head home. We cannot believe how quickly 26 days have gone by!
We gathered one final time on our amazing hotel rooftop for a delicious breakfast. Everyone rushed to get their last fix of fresh watermelon, Greek yogurt with honey and Greek salad, of course.
After some last minute in town shopping, it was time to head to the airport. We were pleasantly surprised that there was nobody in line at the Air Canada check-in counters. An even bigger surprise was that nobody’s suitcase was overweight. A minor miracle given all the shopping this past month!
The group then proceeded through security and started wandering around the terminal, in search of that perfect last meal in Greece! The flight was unfortunately delayed by an hour due to a delay with the incoming flight. This gave students more time to hang out and film a few more TikToks!
I had to say goodbye to the group as my flight was on time. After 53 days and two GSA programs, it was time for me to head off on my vacation!
Students settled into their seats and spent the 10-hour flight watching movies, napping and playing games! Before they knew it, they were in Toronto and saying goodbye to each other. Many tears were shed, from what I’ve been told.
After 26 days of classes, sightseeing, beaches, ferries and countless gelato, our Greece August adventure has come to a close, but the memories we’ve made are with us forever!
I have already started the countdown to Summer 2027! I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to do this year after year.
