Day 14: History Comes to Life
Thursday, August 6th
Today’s blog is brought to you by Waverly in Ms. Soleski’s English class.
Today was a hot and sunny day in Santorini.
We started our day by heading to the cafe to get a start on our new English unit while Mr. Peters’ Classical Civilizations class went to the Archaeological Site of Akrotiri to learn about the incredible history Santorini has to offer.
After taking a well deserved lunch break on the black sand beach just minutes away from our hotel, we continued with school by the pool while basking (and in some cases baking) in the sun. For dinner, we got to experience some traditional Greek Moussaka, which consists of ground beef and eggplant. We then walked around the beautiful, quaint streets near our hotel and admired the sunset while enjoying some gelato. To conclude the night, we finished off packing and prepared for our busy travel day to Crete tomorrow by getting a good night’s sleep.

Tomorrow, we’re off to our last island, Crete!
