Day 10 - Madrid
Hola!
Mr. E might be known for bringing history to life, but we’re convinced his greatest skill is somehow knowing everyone. Thanks to his mysterious connections, our History classes were lucky enough to get a private tour of the conservation and restoration department at the Cultural Centre in Madrid.
During the visit, we watched experts carefully preserve and restore stunning Renaissance paintings and even got to see one of the earliest printed books, dating back to the 1400s. It was an unforgettable behind-the-scenes experience that gave us a whole new appreciation for the work involved in protecting history for future generations.
Unfortunately, photography was very limited, so you’ll have to trust us when we say it was incredible!
It was also a full school day for our students. They attended classes until 12:30 p.m., returned for another session at 2:30 p.m., and still managed to fit in this amazing cultural experience. In the evening, we celebrated a birthday and everyone had some time to explore Madrid before heading back in time for curfew.
