Buongiorno From Roma

July 17th, 2024

Buongiorno!
We have arrived in Rome, the last leg of this incredible journey.  Seven days left, and some of the kids are already missing the friends they’ve made, knowing that we will be leaving.  I do try to remind them to stop thinking about the end and to enjoy each day.
Sorrento was absolutely beautiful!  The group explored the city and some went on the Capri optional excursion, which was an experience of beauty in itself.  We stayed at Bleu Village where we were able to enjoy a pool, a waterslide AND a trampoline park!
On the drive to Rome, the group stopped to visit the ancient city of Pompei.  We took a guided tour where we  learned all about the city that’s been “frozen” in time.  After a quick lunch in Pompei, we hopped on the bus for a smooth ride into Rome, where we checked into the amazing Cross Hotel.
Our stay in Rome will be a busy one!  Classes are in session, as always;  we have excursions to the Vatican, the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.  An optional excursion to Maccarese Beach on Saturday, to enjoy a well-deserved day of relaxation, sun, sand and sea, will be a pleasant ending to the week.  Then, poof, we’ll be at our exam and final banquet day!
A piu tardi!
Ciao!
