Beach Day in Sardegna

We have arrived in Sardegna!
The four days we spent in Florence were a whirlwind of activity!  The group was on the go pretty much the whole time.  Between having class and exploring the city, walking tours and excursions, saying it was action-packed would be an understatement!
We arrived at the Donatello hotel just in time for dinner at a local restaurant.  We all took advantage of the first night to settle into our space and get ready for the next few days.  Friday morning, started with a guided walking tour where we learned all about the culture and history of Florence.  The kids had some free time before dinner that evening.
Saturday, the group was up early to catch the speed train for our day in Venice!  Upon our arrival, we had a couple of hours to ourselves before meeting for our walking tour.  We wandered through the narrow, winding streets and crossed several charming bridges, admiring St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s palace with their stunning mosaics and breathtaking facades. A journey through centuries of architectural splendor and cultural magnificence.
On Sunday, a small group of us took Pisa by storm on one of our optional excursions.  Standing before the iconic Leaning Tower, we marveled at its unique tilt and the rich history surrounding it. Exploring the Piazza dei Miracoli, we were captivated by the stunning architecture and vibrant atmosphere, making our trip to Pisa truly magical.  We ended our guided tour with an exquisite lunch and some free time in the quaint town.
After an exciting and bustling time in beautiful Firenze, we were all exhausted and needed to rest for our 5am wake-up call to catch the ferry to Sardegna. The anticipation of our next adventure kept our spirits high as we settled in for the night, ready for an early start and new experiences on the beautiful island.
The ferry ride was smooth.  The kids capitalized on this time to do some school work so that they’d be ready for class today.  Enjoying a filling lunch and some well-deserved and needed downtime, we got off the ferry renewed and ready to go!
Here we are in Sardegna!  The friendly hotel staff at Hotel Castello greeting us with a smile and dinner waiting!  A delicious 3-course meal with dessert, of course 🙂
We met for breakfast this morning at 8am, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! Day 1 in Sardegna is underway!
A piu tardi!
