Au revoir, Paris... et bonjour le Sud !

Greetings from the French Riviera!

We arrived in Cannes yesterday afternoon after a long day of travel—thankfully, our students are champs and embraced the challenges that come with getting a big group on and off a high-speed French train. Upon our arrival in Cannes, we were picked up and taken to our hotel in Mandelieu, tucked (quite literally) in the mountains, about 10 minutes from both town and the beach. So far, everyone is loving Mandelieu—the students made quick use of our hotel’s amenities, like the pool and soccer field, and some of our teachers have even taken to having their classes there. It is hot—we are diligently applying sunscreen and drinking our water. We are looking forward to a great week here, complete with visits to Cannes and Saint-Tropez.

We ended our time in Paris with excursions to Giverny and Versailles this past weekend, and we celebrated Bastille Day on Friday. It’s safe to say that our stay in Paris was jam-packed, and we’re eager to see how the second half of the program will play out in the South.
