ATHENS!! Acropolis and more

Our group is staying on the outskirts of the city, on the beach, it is a very busy and popular part of the city with lots of shopping and cafes to enjoy. Best of all, we still can swim and soak under the sun for the last few days.  Yesterday, however, we got a chartered bus to the core of the city to get a tour of the Acropolis, shop the Plaka, and eat a wonderful meal just off of Monastiraki Square.

The tour was fantastic, yes it was hot but the students and staff were prepared with sunscreen and lots of water. Our guide, Vasilli, was great at finding shady spots to tell stories that made the history of the Acropolis connect with students. Students had lots of time to learn and take pictures.

We then walked to dinner, sat down on a shady patio and had a wonderful, authentic greek meal. Everyone left full and rejuvenated to go and explore Monastiraki Square at night. More shopping and fun in groups of 4.

We got back on the bus just in time to get back to the hotel for curfew, it was a great afternoon and evening in the core of Athens. We have such a great group of young adults with us, so responsible and kind, well done parents!
