Important: All participants must be able to swim. You will have a very detailed safety briefing and the instructors will evaluate your surfing level and adjust the surfing program where necessary to provide you with the best experience.

When in Santorini, one must learn and experience how this island came to be. Santorini is a volcanic island group at the central south end of the Cyclades in the Aegean Sea. MARGARITES VILLAGE, ANCIENT MONASTERIES, AND MELIDONI CAVE
We’ll begin our excursion with a visit to the charming and hidden village of Margarites. Pottery has been a tradition here for generations, and many locals still create beautiful pottery, blending tradition with modern art. You'll have the opportunity to meet a local artisan who will demonstrate how the pots are hand-thrown. The village features unique architecture and winding streets, perfect for exploring. As we stroll through Margarites, we’ll enjoy the vibrant colors of the village before moving on to the next part of our journey. Next, we’ll visit the famous Arkadi Monastery, one of the most significant historical sites on the island. Located in the Rethymno region, the monastery is famous for its role during the Cretan Revolt of 1866, when it became a symbol of resistance against the Ottoman Empire. Visitors can admire the beautiful architecture of the church, dedicated to Saint Constantine, as well as the stunning rose garden. The monastery’s surroundings are full of flowers and plants, making it a lovely spot for reflection. We then make our way to the mountains of Crete, where Melidoni Cave is a place where nature and history intertwine. Inside, visitors can admire breathtaking chambers filled with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. Soft lighting highlights the natural beauty of the formations, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. This excursion will have you experiencing an authentic day in Crete! Immerse yourself in traditional Cretan culture while discovering the flavors and traditions of the Mediterranean diet. Before the cooking experience, the group will enjoy a short walk through the traditional village of Vamos, exploring its picturesque streets and old stone houses while learning about the history and daily life of one of Crete’s most authentic villages. The activity then takes place in a charming 18th-century olive mill, where students participate in a hands-on cooking workshop in a warm and welcoming environment. Students learn how to prepare traditional Cretan dishes while discovering the importance of olive oil, local mountain herbs, and fresh seasonal ingredients. Τhe menu will include: rooster in tomato sauce with traditional skioufichta pasta, or meatballs in red sauce as the main course, accompanied by dakos salad, fresh salad, kalitsounia with myzithra cheese and aromatic herbs, dessert, bread, water, and a local soft drink.
