This excursion will have you experiencing an authentic day in Crete! Immerse yourself in traditional Cretan culture while discovering the flavors and traditions of the Mediterranean diet. Before the cooking experience, the group will enjoy a short walk through the traditional village of Vamos, exploring its picturesque streets and old stone houses while learning about the history and daily life of one of Crete’s most authentic villages. The activity then takes place in a charming 18th-century olive mill, where students participate in a hands-on cooking workshop in a warm and welcoming environment. Students learn how to prepare traditional Cretan dishes while discovering the importance of olive oil, local mountain herbs, and fresh seasonal ingredients. Τhe menu will include: rooster in tomato sauce with traditional skioufichta pasta, or meatballs in red sauce as the main course, accompanied by dakos salad, fresh salad, kalitsounia with myzithra cheese and aromatic herbs, dessert, bread, water, and a local soft drink. Set sail for an unforgettable adventure on-board a traditional Greek “Kaiki” (a wooden boat) around the islands and islets of Antiparos, Despotiko and Panteronissi. These hidden gem islands of the Aegean Sea are only accessible by boat and boast beautiful beaches, coves and stunning blue waters. This sailing experience offers a unique aspect of the return to untamed beauty and life in nature. Explore Antiparos, the laid-back sister island of Paros, the beauty of the uninhabited Despotiko Island, and discover the Blue Lagoon of Panteronissi that will make you feel like you are in a huge swimming pool created by Mother Nature herself. We will have several swimming stops throughout this excursion and even have opportunities to explore different caves.
