GRADE 11 & 12
GREECE JULY – DEPARTURE 2 PROGRAM
Greece, where ancient history meets breathtaking sunsets, beautiful beaches and piercing blue skies. Start your adventure in the ancient city and capital of Athens, where classical architecture meets modern city life. Join an included excursion through the Acropolis and be amazed by the Parthenon and the Temple of Athena Nike. Opt in to earn community service hours while volunteering at a local dog shelter and helping care for animals in need. Enjoy the shops, vibrant cafés and charming restaurants, and immerse yourself in the rich history of local museums and galleries.
Our island-hopping adventure begins on Crete, the country’s largest and most populous island. Crete has it all: gorgeous beaches, a rich history, authentic traditions and wonderful cuisine. Discover Rethymno’s Old Town, taking in the charming Venetian Harbor and impressive Fortezza Fortress. Opt in to experience a traditional Greek cooking class in the charming village of Vamos, where you can learn to prepare authentic Cretan dishes using local ingredients and traditional techniques.
Next, we head to the stunning island of Santorini, known for its iconic white buildings and blue-domed rooftops. Explore the unique shops, pathways and side streets on a walking tour of Fira, Santorini’s capital. Wander through this picturesque town before heading to Oia, the perfect spot to experience one of the island’s breathtaking sunsets. The Santorini archipelago is home to an active volcano, and you will have the option to take a tour to discover its unique volcanic landscapes.
From Santorini, we make our way to Syros, one of the beautiful islands of the Cyclades. Known for its white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, Syros offers a wonderful blend of natural beauty and culture. Arrive by boat with stunning views of the island and a preview of its incredible architecture. Walk the streets of Ermoupoli, the island’s capital, explore local shops, admire its elegant marble buildings and take in the beautiful scenery. Opt in to spend a day exploring the glamorous island of Mykonos, known for its charming whitewashed streets, iconic windmills and beautiful waterfront. You can also opt in for a day of sailing through the crystal-clear waters of the Cyclades, enjoying the scenery and experiencing the islands from the water.
From Syros, we head back north to spend our final few days in Athens. Enjoy a farewell banquet featuring delicious Greek cuisine while taking in breathtaking views of the city and reflecting on an unforgettable Greek adventure.
