GRADE 11 & 12
DOUBLE CREDIT: EUROPE
Our double-credit program will take you through some of the most iconic cities and breathtaking spots in Europe. Over the course of this program, students will not only earn two academic credits but will also explore the rich cultural and historical landscapes of Italy, Croatia, and Greece.
Our program begins in the heart of history with a visit to the Eternal City, Rome, where the ancient world comes alive. From the grandeur of the Colosseum to the awe-inspiring Vatican City, Rome’s rich heritage will captivate and inspire students at every turn. We will then head to Florence, which offers a deep dive into Renaissance art and culture. Enjoy this breathtaking city, with its cobblestone streets, cafes and gelateria’s, and the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Take a walking tour and see the Piazzale Michelangelo, Ponte Vecchio, Santa Maria del Fiore and Galleria dell’Accademia, famous for its sculptures by the great Renaissance artist, Michaelangelo. Students will also enjoy a day in Venice, walking along its iconic canals, wandering through St. Mark’s Square, and experience the magic of the Floating City.
From Florence, we make our way to Zagreb, Croatia’s lively capital. This city blends old-world charm with a modern, youthful energy. Stroll through the cobblestoned streets of the Upper Town, admire colourful tiled rooftops, and discover bustling open-air markets. With its vibrant café culture, historic squares, and welcoming atmosphere, Zagreb offers the perfect balance of tradition and contemporary life.
On the way from Zagreb to Dubrovnik, we will stop at the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its cascading turquoise lakes, waterfalls, and lush forest trails. It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in Croatia’s natural beauty before heading south.
Our Croatian journey continues in Dubrovnik, famously known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” Its majestic city walls and well-preserved old town will transport you back to the medieval era. We will take a walking tour along the old town walls, where history and stunning views of the Adriatic Sea come together. For those seeking adventure, students will also have the option to join in on a sea kayaking excursion, offering a unique perspective of Dubrovnik’s coastline from the water.
Greece, where ancient history meets breathtaking sunsets, beaches and piercing blue skies. Start your adventure in the ancient city and capital of Athens and explore both classical architecture and modern city life. Join in on an included excursion through the Acropolis and be amazed by the Parthenon and the Temple of Athena Nike. Enjoy the shops, and vibrating cafes and restaurants. Fill your minds with the extensive history in local museums and galleries.
Our island-hopping adventure begins in the stunning and glamorous island of Santorini, known for its symbolic white buildings and blue rooftops. We will explore the unique shops, pathways and side streets on a walking tour of Fira, Santorini’s capital. Fira is the most picturesque capital of the island, and Oia is the spot you want to be to catch the most breathtaking sunset. The whole archipelago of Santorini is still an active volcano. Students will have the option to take a tour to see the unique volcanic landscapes.
From Santorini, we will make our way to Syros. One of the islands of the Cyclades, Syros is known for its long white sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters. When coming into the island by boat, you will have a stunning view of the island, and a preview of the incredible architecture. Walk the streets of Ermoupoli, the capital of the island, and explore the local shops, admire the Venetian marble buildings, and take in the amazing scenery that Cycladic nature provides.
From Syros, we will head back north to spend the final few days in Athens. Enjoy your farewell banquet with delicious Greek food and take in all the breathtaking views of Athens.
This once-in-a-lifetime journey offers a perfect blend of education, exploration, and adventure, ensuring students return home with not only academic achievements but also lifelong memories.
