GRADE 11 & 12
COSTA RICA JULY
HYBRID PROGRAM
Explore the unbelievable diversity of this Central America hotspot. Discovery the incredible biodiversity of the Monteverde Cloud Forest, soak in the natural hot springs as you take in the magnificent Arenal Volcano, and play in the surf and sun on the Guanacaste Coast.
Our adventure begins in Monteverde where we will learn about the natural environment of the Cloud Forest and the challenges facing the local ecosystem. We will also get to see incredible wildlife on a night hike.
Our next stop will take us to the majestic and iconic Arenal Volcano and the town of La Fortuna. We will hike over the solidified lava flows on a light trail and soak in the natural thermal hot springs nearby.
Our final stop is the north Pacific Coast region of Guanacaste. Relaxed beach towns dot the coastline where we will be able to study by the pool or on the beach. We will take in an exciting zip lining excursion and have the option to snorkel or sea kayak.
ONLINE LEARNING: Asynchronous/self-directed course work will begin at the end of June, with students working independently at their own pace. Approximately 50% of the course will be completed online before we set off for Costa Rica.
