Signing up for a Global Summers Academy program that goes to France was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! This past summer, I took the French Immersion course, and it was an incredible experience to truly immerse myself in the language and culture. We started off with two weeks in Paris, and it was everything I imagined—beautiful streets, stunning landmarks, and steeped in history and culture everywhere you turned! There was always something to do or see, especially the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame Cathedral.

After Paris, we headed down south to Mondelieu, a small town near Cannes. We stayed in these mini villas and spent most of our time outside enjoying the amazing weather. Everything there felt so relaxing and peaceful—it was such a great change of pace after the hustle of Paris.

We ended the program in Nice, which might have been my favorite part. Between exploring the markets, hanging out at the beach, and hiking through gorgeous trails, it was impossible not to fall in love with the place. Nice just had this fun, lively vibe that made every day exciting.

It was my fellow student travelers that really made this experience so special. Traveling with Global Summers allowed me to meet many new people from all over Ontario, and everyone was so nice! We had a lot of free time, so I was able to spend time with more than just the people in my class.

If you’re thinking about studying abroad, I can’t recommend Global Summers Academy enough, especially if the program goes to France. You get to explore some amazing places, meet great people, and learn in a way that’s way more exciting than a typical classroom. France itself is rich in history and culture, known for its historic landmarks and amazing food. The baguettes and cheese did not disappoint, and nothing beats having a picnic in the south of France! There are many extra excursions you can take such as a trip to Versailles, or even a trip to Saint-Tropez! It’s such a unique experience, and the perfect opportunity to explore, learn, and grow. I came back with better language skills, more independence, and many memories of an experience I’ll never forget!
