    We’ll begin our excursion with a visit to the charming and hidden village of Margarites. Pottery has been a tradition here for generations, and many locals still create beautiful pottery, blending tradition with modern art. You'll have the opportunity to meet a local artisan who will demonstrate how the pots are hand-thrown. The village features unique architecture and winding streets, perfect for exploring. As we stroll through Margarites, we’ll enjoy the vibrant colors of the village before moving on to the next part of our journey. Next, we’ll visit the famous Arkadi Monastery, one of the most significant historical sites on the island. Located in the Rethymno region, the monastery is famous for its role during the Cretan Revolt of 1866, when it became a symbol of resistance against the Ottoman Empire. Visitors can admire the beautiful architecture of the church, dedicated to Saint Constantine, as well as the stunning rose garden. The monastery’s surroundings are full of flowers and plants, making it a lovely spot for reflection. Afterward, we’ll head to the stunning Petsos Gorge, a beautiful natural area filled with rare plants and animals. As we hike along the scenic path, we’ll stop to visit the Church of St. Anthony, built into the rocky walls. This church was once a temple dedicated to the ancient god Hermes. To wrap up the day, we’ll enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch before returning to our accommodation.

Nippos is known as an old style, peaceful and quiet village with many churches, with the most famous church in the village being St. George. You will get an introduction to all the fresh herbs, vegetables, and olive oils you will be using to create your meals. You will learn about authentic recipes and interact with the local villagers as they teach you about Greek culture through food. Now, enjoy a delicious meal that you have created yourself! You will be making crumbled tomatoes on traditional brusquettes (dako), the classic tzatziki, Greek cabbage rolls, stuffed vegetables with rice and herbs (gemista), and the famous Greek salad with feta cheese on top.
